Relevant cost and revenues

This refers to the cost or revenues that influence a business decision.

Relevant costs and revenues change as a result of the decision taken. For example introducing a new product will affect production and logistics costs and revenue streams; alternatively, if it does not affect the use of the organisation’s premises, premises costs would be classified as irrelevant.

Relevant cost and revenue is a term normally found in management accounting and financial management.
